My work is mainly devoted to families, with some work with models. However every year I do a few seniors which I totally enjoy. Last night I did pictures for a college senior, and while I don’t have the pictures ready yet, I can’t wait to share them. I like to approach senior sessions like I do model work– I talk it over with the senior for what they mood and look they want to achieve, and any locations and fashion they have in mind. I suggest senior girls bring a ton of clothes, and we can spend some time at the beginning of the session deciding on the outfits, refining and accessorizing them etc! I know its a thing right now to hire a makeup artist to have at your session, and if you want to do this, I know many of them and we can arrange it. There is a risk though that you won’t look like “you” which is something to consider.
I think ideally senior pictures should be fashionable, but timeless. You want to look back and reflect on how beautiful you were. Well that, and get a ton of comments on facebook when they go live! Every picture you buy will be retouched in a way that is totally natural, and yet with no zits, no unflattering shirt lumps etc. I can pretty much do the magazine treatment in photoshop, but like to take it back to a bit more natural a look.
Some clients choose to do family pictures with the senior session. For that I like to get the family pictures done right away at the outset, then spend the time focusing on the senior to give them their full experience.
For your final images you can get prints and digital files, in whatever combination you wish when you see them at your order session. Yearbook requirements differ between high schools– if a CD or hard copy is required I will leave that up to you, but I will make sure you have a file or print that is up their exact specifications.
These pictures are all from a session I did last fall, and that I am hoping will serve for some inspiration!
